Parish Life

Mt Maunganui Anglican Parish encourages all members to be involved in voluntary activities supporting the day to day running of the parish as well as activities that reach out into the community. Members are nurtured and encouraged through worship, study and fellowship. New members are asked how they would like to be involved when they join the Parish.

Study Groups

Study groups are formed during Lent and Advent. They are based in people's homes as well as a group that meets after the mid week service at St Peter's. The Vicar prepares the study material and the groups are lead by volunteers.

For information about study groups in these seasons contact the Parish Office.

Rest Home Ministry

A team of volunteers work with the Vicar to provide services in a number of rest homes in the Mt Maunganui community. Some of these are communion services and some are services of music and word.

To become involved in this ministry contact the Vicar

Retirement Village Ministry

Large numbers of the retired people in the congregation live at Bayswater Village, Oceanshores and Somervale. A Pastoral Care coordinator has been appointed for each village and members of the congregation assist with leading worship services at each centre.

If you are moving into one of these villages and would like to be connected to the pastoral network contact Deacon Doreen Swinburne ph 575 6367

Neighbourhood Groups

For pastoral care and the delivery of the quarterly magazine, Quest, the parish is organised into neighbourhood groups. Clusters of parishioners in specific geographical areas have an appointed group convenor who becomes their first point of contact for information and pastoral care.

To join a neighbourhood group advise the Parish Office
